We’ve worked with the fine people at Akashic Books on a few events now, and we’re happy to announce that we’ll be teaming up with them again to celebrate the release of the new book from Scott Crawford, the writer, editor, and filmmaker behind the documentary Salad Days.

SPOKE: Images and Stories from the 1980’s Washington, DC Punk Scene compiles an abundance of photographs, oral histories, and other documentation of–well, you can probably tell which scene is covered by the book’s title. Featured photographers include Jim Saah, Cynthia Connolly, and Lucian Perkins; among the bands depicted are Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Faith, Fugazi, Soulside, Shudder to Think, Nation of Ulysses, Jawbox, Swiz, and more.

At this event, Scott Crawford will be joined by Jim Saah (main photographer in the book), Michael Hampton (Faith, SOA, and Embrace), and Andy Rapoport (King Face). Vol.1 Brooklyn’s Tobias Carroll will moderate the discussion.

This event will take place at WORD (126 Franklin Street, Brooklyn, NY) on Thursday, February 2, 2017. You can RSVP for it on Facebook.
