Paul Hornscheimer is responsible for Mother, Come Home, one of the most powerful graphic novels I’ve read in a long time. Needless to say, I’m happy to hear that he’s at work on a short animated film, titled Giant Sloth; it’s described as “a surrealist tale drawing as much on influences like Fellini and (the main character’s namesake) Luis Buñuel as it does animation from the 1960s and 70s.” Throw in a voice cast led by Paul Giamatti and I daresay I’m even more intrigued. A fundraising campaign is underway on Kickstarter. The trailer can be seen below.
