We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be co-hosting James Fearnley at WORD Jersey City to celebrate the American release of his memoir, Here Comes Everybody. You might be familiar with the band in which he plays accordion: The Pogues — the group that’s also the focus of this book.
Reviewing Here Comes Everybody for The Guardian, Alexis Petridis wrote:
Fearnley’s book fits perfectly with the Pogues: for all their earthiness, they were a band concerned with myths, from the Irish legends MacGowan’s lyrics relocated to the back streets and pubs of north London to the persistent rock’n’roll fable of the damned, beautiful loser.
This event will take place on May 7th, at 7:30 p.m. Facebook RSVP here.
WORD Jersey City is located at 123 Newark Avenue.
