The Beautiful Sounds of Imperialism: Covering “Cortez the Killer” at The Rudyard Kipling

I saw this video of Saredren Wells covering “Cortez the Killer” at a Louisville club called The Rudyard Kipling, and thought to myself, “gee, that’s a nice cover of one of my favorite Neil Young songs.”

Then I looked at the name of the song and the name of the club together, realized that Cortez the Killer (Hernán Cortés) and Rudyard Kipling both hated brown people, and that this was a very nice sounding imperialist match made in heaven.
