Morning Bites: Roth’s Man Booker, Tina Fey’s birthday, Joshua Foer’s memory, and more

Philip Roth was announced as the Man Booker International Prize winner today.   One judge withdrew because of the win, stating that reading Roth is “as though he’s sitting on your face and you can’t breathe”   Over at Jewcy, Jason makes the point that Jews are dominating the Man Booker. (He does that because it’s his job.)

  • It’s Tina Fey’s birthday.  She’s 41.  You might know her from such books as Bossypants, and some other stuff she did before Bossypants.
  • This Saturday is the Open-Air poetry and prose competition in Washington Square Park.
