A few weeks ago, Arianna Huffington and her cronies would have had you thinking that people were having so much fun wasting their lives riding subways, that they had no time to read.
But then, like an eagle, in swoops that grand old rag, The New York Times, and suddenly everybody on the subway is reading Infinite Jest, 2666, or some other incredibly long book.
Take that Huffington Post. Go pick on another city.
